My practice explores the expressive possibilities of material through surface, texture, and restrained color. Working primarily with pumice, acrylic, and oil, I build and erode layers to create surfaces that feel weathered, tactile, and shaped by time. The materials remain an active part of the process, often guiding the composition as the work develops.

I'm Gintarė Bandinskaitė, a Lithuanian-born artist based in Los Angeles. Growing up in the Lithuanian countryside fostered an early sensitivity to landscape, material, and the beauty of weathered surfaces. That influence continues to shape my work today, though my paintings are less concerned with depicting a place than with exploring how material itself can create depth, atmosphere, and presence.
